Me Frédérique Roy joined our firm in August 2022 as one of our junior associates after successfully completing the École du Barreau du Québec.
She obtained her bachelor's degree in civil law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Sherbrooke in 2019. She then went on to complete her master’s in the practice of criminal et penal law at the University of Sherbrooke where she graduated in 2021. She was called to the Bar in March 2022.
During her studies, Frédérique had a particular interest in any type of law that touched people’s everyday life. Having been faced with all sorts of realities during her studies, but particularly during her year in the legal Clinique of the University of Sherbrooke, she decided to use her legal knowledge to help those who face difficult situations.
Frédérique was an articling student at a private firm that practised criminal law, she also started her career in that firm. That experience allowed her to gain a lot of experience not only in criminal law, but also in how to handle delicate files. She has an acute understanding of the consequences the legal system can have on the everyday life of the client, whether it be a criminal case, a family case or a juvenile case. She knows how to defend her clients with conviction and passion and how to advise them with heat and compassion.
Frédérique is fluent in French and English. If she hadn't been a lawyer, she would have been a humanitarian journalist or an environmental journalist.
