Me Jillian Wood is an associate lawyer with Goldwater, Dubé and joined our firm in 2019 as an articling student.
Before obtaining her law degree from Université de Montréal, Jillian earned a Bachelor of Arts in the Joint Honours Political Science and Religious Studies program from McGill University. During her studies and following graduation, she worked in marketing and advertising for several small businesses in Montreal.
Jillian’s interest in practicing family law comes from a desire to help families move through and beyond complex and deeply personal legal issues.
While attending law school, she had the opportunity to work for Shield of Athena Family Services, where she provided legal information to survivors of domestic violence.
As a word of advice to current or future law students, Jillian says:
“Take the time to discover what excites you both in school and in life before dedicating all your resources to pursuing it. It’s too easy to fall into the trap of striving to achieve benchmarks of success without stopping to consider what “success” means to you. Once you find your calling, the overwhelming work becomes a satisfying challenge.”
Jillian is fluent in English and French.
Had she not chosen to become an attorney, she would have been a political analyst.
