Marie Anne Martin obtained her Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from the Université de Montréal in 2015. She successfully completed the Quebec Bar exams in 2016, articled under the supervision of Me Marie-Hélène Dubé and was called to the Bar that same year.
Prior to completing her law studies, Me Martin obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Pharmacology from the Université de Sherbrooke. During her studies, she conducted research on the effects of prenatal anoxia on neurotransmitter levels in rats and co-authored a scientific paper on the subject.
During her studies, Me Martin worked in customer service, which developed her sense of empathy for people’s needs, as well as her instinct for responding efficiently in cases of emergency. Animal welfare is a cause Me Martin strongly believes in. Me Martin regularly participates in events organized by the Services Animaliers de la Rive-Sud, a group devoted to the sheltering and rehabilitation of homeless animals. She also contributes to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA).
Me Martin is fluent in both English and French. Had she not chosen to become an attorney, she would have become a psychiatrist.
