Marie Anne Martin obtained her Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from the Université de Montréal in 2015. She successfully completed the Quebec Bar exams in 2016, articled under the supervision of Me Marie-Hélène Dubé and was called to the Bar that same year.
Prior to completing her law studies, Me Martin obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Pharmacology from Université de Sherbrooke. She, among others, participated in executing fundamental research experiments to study the effects of prenatal anoxia on neurotransmitter levels in rats and co-authored a scientific paper on the subject.
Animal welfare is a cause very close to her heart. Me Martin regularly participates in events organized by Services Animaliers de la Rive-Sud, a group devoted to the sheltering and rehabilitation of homeless animals. She also contributes her time and other personal resources to helping the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA).
Me Martin is fluent in both English and French. Had she not chosen to become an attorney, she would have become a neurologist.
