Me Mindy Amar joined the Goldwater, Dubé team in 2020. Prior to joining the firm, she practiced exclusively in family law and has gained invaluable experience in divorce litigation and in matters involving de facto spouses.
More particularly, Me Amar appears regularly before the Superior Court of Québec and has been involved in highly contested custody battles involving the denial of parental access, parental alienation as well as issues pertaining to child support and spousal support.
Me Amar has been a member of the Barreau du Québec since 2015 and completed her Civil Law Degree at the University of Ottawa (LL.L.). She also pursued her studies and completed a Master of Laws (LL.M.) at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York City with a particular focus on family law, which included a Master’s Thesis analyzing the international response to the controversies of surrogacy.
Perfectly bilingual in English and in French, Me Amar builds a strong and amicable rapport with her clients. Her passion, knowledge of the law as well as her ability to identify her client’s needs and advise them how best to safeguard their rights in an efficient manner make her a staunch advocate. Had she not become an attorney, she would have become a psychologist.
